Tara Ross is a partner at Boswell Employment Law, having joined the firm in 2023. Tara brings over a decade of workers’ compensation experience and advises employers all sizes—across both the public and private sectors—on a wide range of workers’ compensation matters. She appears regularly before the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, and takes pride in providing pragmatic, strategic advice that reflects both the legal and practical realities employers face.
Prior to representing employers, Tara spent nine years representing workers through a legal aid clinic, an Ontario Ministry of Labour agency, and the Ontario Nurses’ Association. This experience gives her a well-rounded perspective on workers’ compensation disputes and informs her balanced, solutions-oriented approach. She has also held roles as a Legislative Interpretation Specialist and as a post-secondary paralegal program instructor.
Tara is a frequent speaker at professional development programs for practitioners, adjudicators, and licensees. She has spoken at the SOAR Conference for adjudicators, Ontario Bar Association events, and the Schedule 2 Employers’ Group Annual Conference on multiple occasions, and has been a guest speaker in the Sheridan College Human Resources program and the Windsor Law Professional Education Program’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Certificate. She also participated as a subject matter expert in the WSIB’s 2022 Value for Money Audit, conducted by KPMG.
In 2025, Tara was recognized in the 20th edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada for her work in Workers’ Compensation Law. Boswell Employment Law was also recognized in Best Law Firms – Canada for both 2025 and 2026 in the area of workers’ compensation law.
