Rob Boswell is the founding partner of Boswell Employment Law.
For 30 years, Rob has been a leading lawyer representing employers in the area of workers’ compensation law in Ontario. After beginning his career as an in-house lawyer for General Motors of Canada and developing his skills at a large employment law boutique in Toronto, Rob has been self-employed since 2003.
Rob has represented employers of all sizes and across all industries in Ontario, and provides consultative support to other law firms, insurers, and other professionals. For 16 years, Rob also functioned as external prosecuting counsel to the WSIB. He regularly appears in appeals before the WSIB and Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
He has been a leader in professional education for lawyers and paralegals and has been active in development and chairing continuing legal education programs for the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario. Along with Tara Ross, Rob is a regular speaker at client and student-focused education programs and conferences, including the annual Schedule 2 Employers Conference, the annual education day of the Municipal Users Group, and the Windsor Law Professional Education Program’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Certificate. He is a member-at-large of the WSIAT’s Advisory Council, representative of employers.
In addition to his workers’ compensation practice, Rob provides support to clients in all areas of employment and labour law, human rights, occupational health and safety, as well as defence work in provincial offences court, and in Coroner’s inquests related to workplace fatalities.
